Who We Are Why Work with Travel Industry Professionals? Why NTA? NTA has been the leading travel organization for tour and packaged travel professionals for 59 years. Our membership spans more than 40 countries, and our members package to, from and within North America. To join the association, companies must meet strict membership requirements. NTA tour operator companies average an impressive 23 years of being in business. FACT: NTA tour operators are part of a network of tourism professionals who package or represent attractions and destinations throughout North America and in more than 40 countries around the globe. NTA tour operators provide high-quality, professional services that are backed by years of experience and solid industry relationships. Based on their business volume and professional relationships with destinations, hotels, museums, restaurants and attractions all over the world, NTA tour operators can negotiate favorable rates and pass these savings on to your groups. FACT: Because of the volume of business they do and their industry relationships, NTA tour operators have access to competitive pricing. They know the market and can negotiate with authority. NTA tour operators are among the most experienced in the industry and must uphold key requirements to be included in our ranks. Before they are able to apply for membership, they must have a senior management employee with at least three years of experience in the packaged travel industry. They must also maintain a current certificate of insurance with NTA that demonstrates at least USD$1 million in general liability insurance. After having met those requirements, tour operators who wish to join NTA are subject to a peer review process in which the entire membership is notified of their intent to join. FACT: NTA tour operators are required to carry a minimum of $1 million in public liability insurance.
