7 Days and 6 Nights Tour Itinerary


While it would take pages to tell you all of what you will see and experience, here are just a few highlights of what you will enjoy on tour:

DAY 1 – We depart Mesa, AZ on this 5 day adventure to experience the 2011 Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA.  This year’s theme is “Building Dreams, Friendships & Memories” which promises to bring more creativity with flowers, music, equestrian units and lots of animation from all over the world.  Our lunch stop over will bring us to the town of Indio, CA that began as a railroad town that during WWII became a center for troop material deployment and the city was flooded with troops looking for relaxation We’ll make a stop for dinner before we settle into our hotel for the evening.  L 

DAY 2 – A morning ride brings us to Los Angeles, California and our home for the next few Days.  Relax at your hotel and nearby on your own or sign up for today’s optional tour that is sure to be a day of delight at The Getty Center and Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in the Los Angeles area.   B (L D FOR DAY TOUR ONLY)

DAY 3 – The day and the option is yours!  Enjoy a day at your hotel and surrounding area or sign up for today’s optional tour that takes us to the Aquarium of the Pacific followed by a Whale Watching/Harbor boat tour.  We return to the hotel for a bit of “R and R” before we depart as a group for dinner.  B D

DAY 4 – This morning we set off for Old Town Plaza for a guided tour, stop over at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument and the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits.  Lunch today is in Old Town on your own.  We return to our hotel for a relaxing afternoon while a few may continue onto this afternoon’s tour optional Hollywood Landmarks Tour viewed by helicopter.  Tonight we catch an early dinner, celebrate New Year’s at 9pm (midnight on the East Coast) as tomorrow we have an early morning.  B  

DAY 5 – Rise and shine…we’re off for the 122nd Annual Tournament of Roses Parade!  Wear good walking shoes today as after the parade you will get to walk within arms reach and get a close up view of each and every float (weather and traffic permitting).  See the detail, the design and workmanship that goes into creating these floats.  All of this of course is after we have spent the morning in our Grandstand seats enjoying what is known as one of the most patriotic parades in America.  Boxed lunches provided for you today to eat at your leisure during the activities.  After departing Pasadena, we travel over to Hollywood for a view of Graumin’s Chinese theater and a view of the Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  B L 

DAY 6 – Saddleback Church, home of Pastor Rick Warren, awaits us for our morning worship and fellowship.  We’ll arrive in time for the “Traditions” service, however, feel free to experience any of the other worship services during the 9:00 AM service.  After church we depart for a leisurely drive to San Diego for a returning tour favorite, the  USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum.   After our time upon the Midway, we wander over to Seaport Village for just a bit of free time and a chance to grab a bite to eat at one of the many different restaurants.  After our free time we mosey over to Dr. David Jeremiah's Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon for the 6pm evening service.  We overnight in the area after our evening worship service.  B

DAY 7 – Homeward bound, we depart for Mesa, AZ  after a relaxing morning we depart for Yuma Crossing and the Army Quartermaster Depot.  Lunch is in a unique restaurant with a bit of historical standing.  We leave Yuma knowing we’ve experienced a dream for many, built many friendships and long lasting memories.  B  L

Travel Option 2:      Long Beach

                                       (Day 3)  $70

The port of Long Beach is one of the World’s largest shipping ports in an area once known as “Iowa by the Sea”.  Today it is our home as we venture to the Aquarium of the Pacific combined with a whale watching/harbor tour.  The aquarium features a collection of over 12,500 animals representing 650 different species while focusing on the Pacific Ocean.  Pet a shark or stingray or take a turn feeding nectar to the colorful lorikeet birds.  This truly is a hands on adventure day!  Lunch on your own at your leisure.

Travel Option 3: Helicopter (Day 4) $220

Afternoon optional helicopter ride on the trip called “Hollywood Landmarks Tour”.  Fly above Los Angeles as your pilot points out the various Los Angeles and Hollywood landmarks from an angle not achievable by motorcoach.  Space sells out quick.  Weight and D.O.B required for this reservation.  This optional is non-refundable. 

Travel Option 1:      Los Angeles, CA (Day 2)  $72

             The nation’s 2nd largest city is home to numerous attractions.  Today’s selections include the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and the Getty Museum.  The unique facility at the Getty Museum presents a collection of Western art from the Middle Ages to the present against a backdrop of dramatic architecture, tranquil gardens, and breathtaking views.  You can even wander through the galleries to view pieces by Monet, Van Gogh and other famous artists’ works on display.  Words are not enough to describe the experience you will receive from the Getty.  Our motorcoach may not be  Air Force One, however, it will take us for an experience not to be missed at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum complete with one of the Boeing 707 aircrafts utilized as  Air Force One as well as a Marine One that call the 90,000 sq ft exhibit hangar home.  You will also have some time to pay your respects at the final resting place for our 40th president, Ronald Wilson Reagan.  Lunch and dinner included on the day tour for those who attend the optional day tour.
